Chrissy & Erin Gray
Director’s
Chrissy and Erin have taken over the ski school in 2025 however Chrissy has worked for Glenshee Ski and Board School for 16 years… although he is still only 32 some would say he is a veteran instructor. Chrissy has spent a lot of time on the slopes at Glenshee as well as enjoying ski holidays abroad with Erin. You will mostly see Chrissy out teaching but Erin will be in the office to welcome you all.
Chrissy, Erin and the team are looking forward to welcoming everyone to Glenshee Ski and Board School.
Darren Morgan
Senior Ski Instructor
Darren is an outdoor enthusiast. His experience of 21 years in Her Majesty’s Royal Marine Commandos and working all over the world has led to him gaining many outdoor qualifications in Alpine Skiing, Telemarking and Mountaineering. He trained as a Physical Training Instructor whilst in the Marines and has been involved with the ski school since 2006.
Ewen Matthew
Chief Instructor
Ewen knows Glenshee well and holds the ISIA Alpine qualification. He has 40 years experience and has instructed in Italy, Switzerland and France and been an instructor in Glenshee on and off since 1987. He helped set up the Glenshee Performance Squad and has been a race coach since 2002. Ewen has successfully coached at Scottish schools, Scottish children’s races and British Children’s Championships. He combines his skills learned as a PE teacher with his ski teaching to provide a focused, fun and individual experience to each lesson.
John Macpherson
Senior Instructor
John has been teaching skiing at Glenshee for a very long time. He brings a wealth of experience to the team and alongside the teaching, John can be found assisting in the office and co-ordinating/running the race timing for all of the ski races.
Melissa Gray-Cheape
Office Administrator
Melissa learnt to ski at a young age but also is a firm believer that it is never too late to start. She has so many happy memories of her children learning to ski at Glenshee. Through her role as Office Manager, she very much looks forward to welcoming, helping and advising children and adults eager to get onto the slopes and discover snowsports, as well as those looking to improve, hone and enhance their technique.
Tereza Morgan
Office Manager
Tereza has grown the Ski School from strength to strength over the years. Tereza coordinates the daily lesson plans and although she really enjoys her skiing, she is often found in the office ensuring the busy operation runs very smoothly.
Alasdair Johnston
Alpine Skiing Instructor
Ally aka ‘pops” has been teaching skiing in Scotland for many years. Outside of his teaching at the Ski School he is a very talented musician and also loves his Telemark Skiing.
Gilbert Runcie
Alpine Skiing Instructor
Gilbert works part time with us and holds the ISIA Alpine Level 3 qualification. He spends most of his spare time during the summer sailing around the highlands and on weekends he works with our Ski School. A great asset to the team with lots of experience.
James Gray-Cheape
Alpine Skiing/Snowboarding Instructor
James’ involvement with the Ski School started many years ago when he taught his own children to ski. He got them going but when they started to know better he handed them over to the Ski School. James has since dual qualified as an Alpine Ski and Snowboarding Instructor and likes nothing more than helping beginners get from zero to hero!
Jamie Aitken
Snowboarding Instructor
Jamie has been working with us at the ski school for many years both on a full time and part time basis. He is now a fully qualified fireman but dedicates most of his spare time to teaching snowboarding.
Isla Van Der Heiden
Snow Boarding/Skiing Instructor
Isla grew up skiing in Scotland and thinks there is nowhere quite like the Scottish hills! She recently moved back to the area after instructing in Canada last winter season, she loves sharing the joys of Scottish skiing and snowboarding with new people. She can provide lessons in British Sign Language upon request.
